  Oh my! I really don't know what to suggest for myself

  I like music (no gospel or country, please).

  I could use a keychain. Darn. All of a sudden I realise that there ain't much I need or want. Hey, that's a good thing, ain't it? Ok,ok, back to my list. Hummmmm.

  Well I do love things that depict angels although I'm not religious by nature. OH! I love a good, fine smelling incense. Perferably some type Musk. Ah, I'll love and appreciate whatever is sent because it's about Christmas and surprise.

  let's face it.... the only reason the d.c. sniper was caught was because his pride--arrogance, really--got out of hand.

  he bragged about another cold-blooded killing that he had made a month ago.

  what his stupid ass didn't realize is that he gave a break to competent officials who were looking for any opening.

  Yeap, world peace/love and all that happy horsehockey, eh. Take lessons from Israel...who strap a weapon on their youth, females included, and teach them how to defend "their own" ...unlike American's that will continue giving up 'weapons' because govenment will make it safe blahblahblah.

  I think this country is in for a, shall we say, "rude awakening" from the slumber of passiveness and conformity to the dictates of men who thrive $$$$ off of the war machine; yet want the citizens of this country unarmed.

  Unlike some forums, this one doesn't really seem to care how much we write. I think it's great to have such a place to come and share when spirit moves us. Too, the more one writes, the more we become acquainted with the other members, thus might not feel as intimidated or left out...as some express from time to time.

  AH, Christmas. My favorite holiday with all the bright lights,etc.

  The best Christmas I had was with my now husband who spared no expense in getting me anything and everything I wanted. So I got the most beautiful tree and had decorations everywhere. Yeah, we did a lot of the homemade stuff, too. I consider that my "first" Christmas because there was absolutely no guilt, no lingering thoughts of my JW family...just surrounded by loved one's...and of course doing our community service work that makes your heart grow ten times bigger to see the poorer community kids eye's light up. Ah.....I'm a sucker for kids, that's for sure.

  Our first year together, we celebrated every holiday (pagan days, too) by entertaining friends in our home. At the end of the year we were pretty tired...but had loads of fun. Since then we've toned it down because I'm getting old.

  Like other's have stated; gift giving is a year long thing...but Christmas! I told everyone last year that I did not want to hear anything negative about how much money they spend...if you can't afford to buy gifts, do something else. Geezzzzz. People complain about something that is suppose to bring joy and happiness. Go figure, eh.

  This year I'm hoping my son (only child) will come up here with his family. We've spent the last 3 years going down to the BIG city. One gift to my son and his wife will be two nights stay at a motel with grandma/grandpa watching the kids. If I were a young parent some time away 'at night' would sure be nice.

  there isn't time.. just read it and do it "now" thank you.

  I live in the USofA, but would like to respond to your post just because...because utilities will continue going UP in cost to the consumer while the companies whine and complain about "their expenses."

  In this valley where I live, water is a precious commodity...privately owned...and of course the state would really like to regulate the private wells, too. It's a friggen joke, and most people will not do or say much of anything until they are told how much water to consume. The politicans are voting to purchase private land and convert into housing developments. And just where is the water supposed to come from? Yeah, to many people...too little water. And of course the only one reaping any real benefit is the owner of the water - which sure as hell ain't the consumer.

  Same,same with lights. It's a joke! We have a casino that is lite up 24/7 - fast food junction that is about the same, but by golly, they (govenment) want your porch lite out by 10:00 p.m. so everyone can enjoy the stars, nature at it's best. Right!.

  Good luck, mate. I sincerely wish you well. This country is on a fast decline downhill and the increase in utilities is just one of the many symptoms of such.

  i want to give some history of the situation.. last yr..................... i was engaged to a guy and he went back to doing speed and stealing from me and my son.

  he abandoned us in the townhome cause of people who had set up camp in the house waiting for his return ( he owed them $).

  Hi, Jess- I know you'll get lots of replies from those that love you...as we learn with time how to love ourselves. I'm certainly not qualified from a professional standpoint, but speaking from experience it could be that you are just not secure with yourself, thus that dreaded sense of not trusting someone else. Somehow I do believe that when we are secure about who we are, despite our past experiences, we are more prone for trusting others. Although there are of course circumstances where people have already shown themselves unworthy of our trust...which from what you shared doesn't seem the case.

  Too, we aren't no dummy when it comes to how woman work...get my drift. Some people are just plain mean spirited and jealous of someone else finding a kind, loving, and supportive companion and go out of their way to help create an atmosphere of dishonesty. But even at that, we have to focus on our own healing with full knowledge that the other does care about our welfare and would not damage the relationship they have choicen.

  Don't know there is any pat answer...different emotions come into play. And there are simply no guarantees in life either way. Take each step as it comes, sorta like that old addage of "one day at a time" and be gentle and forgiving on yourself for feeling what you're feeling. Maybe it's all a part of the maturing process.

  Jess - for me I was always the outcast...developed for my tender naive age, and not pretty. Or so it was back then. Now that I'm 51 years of age and overweight when those "jealous" times want to rear it's ugly head, I know I'm dealing with the old sickness of lacking real self esteeem. It's sometimes a fleeting moment that if I allowed myself to dwell there would create an even bigger monster. And I'm just not willing to do that to myself or my husband today.

  One thing that I found amazing during my really active years in a recovery program was listening to some of the most gorgeous woman tell how they had complete loathing for themselves. Our real security comes from within...something you are already aware. It's a wonderful thing how you reach out to your friends for support and suggestions.

  We see things the way we want to see them

  the other night i was at my in-laws house for dinner.

  they are both jehovah's witnesses and try every now and then to plant some thoughts in our heads to get us concerned.

  this night was no exception, with small words and phrases popping up through the evening.

  Point well taken. And of course we know it's not just the JW mindset that looks at world events as some "sign" of the end.

  Ya know Dragon, some days it would be "nice and comfortable" too believe God cares...but alas, it just doesn't work for me. I have no answers for anyone. I've learned that it does matter how I view events, but I also know that Fear is perhaps the greatest enemy.

  As for current events...hell, this stuff has been going on for centuries and the masses are content to have their television with it's biased news coverage, sports, soap opera's, trashy talk shows that encourage violence/hatred, all sorts of material trappenings that keep one enslaved to credit...the list could go on and on.

  I also tried living in a make believe world of my own creation...ignoring some very important issues that effect the world, but ya know what; speaking only for myself, looking through rose colored glasses does'nt change the fact that we live under the control and dictates of men who seek world control...at any cost; well, except to those who pull the strings. They never put themselves in harms way.

  At the same time though, I do my best to stay out of fear. The bastards have always, will always, do what they do for furthering their agenda for global conquer. On the flip side of all the evil politics, I've also learned how the Magic of thought produces good, too. That's what I try and stay focused on. So again, speaking only for myself, it's about balance. Yes, the world is full of "evil", but there is still a lot of good/positive people and things. I can see both...for what that's worth. Well, it's worth a lot to me. It doesn't really matter what others think of me.

  It's getting closer!!!!!
